An Age Old Practice

forms of meditation

For centuries people have meditated, held space, and prayed. Some people say these are all different things. I think if you look at the break down of what each entails they are all very much a like. Here I will share what I have learned about the many ways that people practice mediation.  Take and see which practice works best for you. As there are so many forms there is one you will be most drawn to or called to work with. Enjoy!

Guided Meditation

Guided meditation is a great way to get started with meditation. It is simply following directions. As you sit and breath you are guided through each step of the practice. They have many lengths so choose what works best for you. Here you can get my free guided Lotus On The Water Release meditation.

Mala Meditation

I love malas! If you meditate with me you know this. One of my favorite mala creators is Erika Carpenter at Moos Malas. You can find her listed in my Treasure Chest under . So waht is the mala for and how does it work? I know so many people are wearing them because they are stunning. However they serve a purpose. When meditating with a mala you want to start at the "anchor bead" or the tassel. This is the starting point of the mala. Then while saying your mantra, prayer, focused intention, or breath you want to take and hold each bead (focus one bead at a time, holding the bead with the thumb and index finger moving from one to the next)
