Chakras and The Days Of The Week
You and The Days Of The Week
To no surprise I came to realize that the days of the week have their own power, their own vibration, and their own emotions. Not shocking at all. Like duh, how did it take till I was an adult to have this light bulb moment? Lol. I think like many others I was just listlessly flowing through life and never really thought about it.
Then a few years back when I really cracked open, I started digging. Digging into everything. I knew that the days had meaning and were associated with Gods and planets. I had always known that words, songs and well everything has frequencies and emotional connections. I just overlooked that the days of the week did too! It’s no wonder why we act certain ways or have certain expectations on certain days. Yes, yes we are easily programmed by the world around us, but it’s deeper than that when you look at the bigger picture.
And you know me. I love the bigger picture!
So, let’s get really deep, lets talk about how the days of the week line up with your chakras!
Yes!!! I know you didn’t really see me going there did you? Well I am, because when we look at the emotions, the colors, planets and break downs of each day, we can align them with the chakras! 7 recognized days of the week, to 7 recognized chakras! Yes, I understand there are more than 7 chakras, but for the 7 widely recognized foundational chakras that is where we will focus.
So in case your are unfamiliar with the chakras lets take a quick recap:
Root / Base Chakra / Muladhara / 1st
Associated with the color red. Is located at the base of the spine, said to be funneling downwards to connect us with earth energy. Relates to the physical body through the adrenal glands. Focuses on safety and trust.Sacral Chakra / Svadisthana / 2nd
Associated with the color orange. Located just below the navel. Governs the reproductive glands. Focuses on sexuality and creativity.Solar Plexus Chakra / Manipura / 3rd
Associated with the color yellow. Located between the navel and sternum. Relates to the pancreas and its glandular functions. Focuses on wisdom and personal power.Heart Chakra / Anahata / 4th
Associated with the color green. Located in the middle of the chest. Relates to the thymus gland. Focuses on love and healing.Throat Chakra / Vishudha / 5th
Associated with the color blue. Located in the throat area. Governs the thyroid and parathyroid glands. Focuses on communication.Brow / Third Eye Chakra / Ajna / 6th
Associated with the color indigo. Located on the forehead between the eyebrows. Relates to the Pineal gland in the brain. Focuses on awareness.Crown Chakra / Sahasrara / 7th
Associated with the color violet. Located at the top of the head, funneling upwards to connect with our higher self, enlightenment, source of God consciousness, and spirit. Relates to the Pituitary gland as well as the Pineal gland. Focuses on spirituality.
In a nut shell, those are the 7 Chakras. I could go much deeper, but we are talking about how this correlates with the days of the week; so I will connect my Chakra blog here in case you need more info or are interested in learning more about the chakra system itself.
Back to the correlation with the days of the week! As we all know we are spiritual and physical beings. Some try to separate these, but it leads to imbalance and disconnection. It’s just not possible. Our spiritual and physical being directly affects us physiologically, because of how emotions affect us for better or worse, and there is always an emotional side to everything we do or encounter because we are emotional creatures. That is what sets us apart from every other creature on the planet!
The funny part is that none of this is new. In Ancient times, the days of the week were named according to the planets. Every day was a new opportunity to invoke the energy of a specific God, which in turn, created a unique vibration for all of mankind., which is useful when we are looking to create a certain energy in our life. This is important to figure out, because you will want it to support your bigger picture, the goals you have. For me that is balance, peace, and calm. Knowing the energy and the frequency around us can either knock us off track or empower us on our path. As some one who runs a home, a family, and juggles schedules, this was incredibly powerful. This is key for me to learn and then apply to support the life style I desire, because let’s be real, no one likes to run around like a chicken without a head and honestly it’s not healthy.
Let’s look at how the days of the week can relate to the chakras! Then lets see how you can harness that energy to benefit you and your goals!
You may see this listed differently in different places, I am sharing these as they align with your chakras and the planets associated with your chakras and weekdays.
Sunday – Crown Chakra - “To know”
A day of thought. Sunday has long been looked at as a holy day, a day of reflection or day of rest. With Darren Hardy we know that this is the day we prepare for the coming week! This is a good day to reset, regroup, and ground. Centering your energy for the coming week. Acknowledge the wins of the past week and look at what you want to achieve, what can you do or do differently to accomplish this? This will allow you to feel secure, have a plan, and be in purpose. Release anything from the past week with gratitude for the lessons that came your way and start fresh again with gratitude for seeing what you can do to better serve your goals. A great day to relax and spend time with your loved ones, or have alone time. Check in and see what the energy of the week will be if you follow the moon phases and astrology. This will also help you win the week as today is ruled by the Sun.
Activity - Connect with your higher self.
Monday – Sacral Chakra - “To Feel”
A day of water. A day of Emotion. Ruled by the Moon. Mondays get a bad wrap, because it is super charged with water energy (emotion). This first day of the work/ school can make or break your week. If you are in The Gathering group with me you know I like to reprogram us for a Magical Monday or Magnificent Monday. This allows us to change our subconscious program of dreading the end of the weekend and starting a new work week. It allows us to focus on boosting creativity, positive energy and nurture relationships of all natures. When we nurture a loving and supportive relationship with ourselves we extend that to the family, friends, and co-workers around us!
Activity - Nurture yourself, take a salt bath.
Tuesday – Solar Plexus - “To Act”
Tuesday is that in between day. (The word literally means that too.) It’s energy is great for nurturing yourself. Focusing on self identity will help you gain clarity and focus on your tasks. It can help you maintain whatever tasks you need to work on or even let go of the ones that are not actually in alignment with your true self. This will make room for the goals you want to achieve. Remember to check in with your ego, with the ruling planet of this day being Mars, your ego will need to be in check to make the most of your projects. What thoughts are triggered and come up when you are working on nurturing yourself or focusing on tasks? This is the ego telling you there are areas that need nurturing and attention and that something may be imbalanced. Thank it and do the work so you can embrace the rest of the week with ease and grace! Let your inner fire connect with the fire of Mars and burn away whats not serving you.
Activity - Take action. Make a move.
Wednesday – Throat Chakra - “To Express”
Wednesday falls in the middle of the week. You may find yourself in or out of balance at this point in the week. The half way point is a space to celebrate your achievements or re-balance. It is no surprise that the day is ruled by Mercury the planet of communication. Life involves a lot of communication. Many times though we don’t say the things we need to or we choose not to express our selves. Use Wednesday as a day of expression, communication, and using your voice. Sing in the shower, sing on your commute, express gratitude for those around you, give compliments to people, express your love for your family by telling them. If you find yourself unable to say something or have something negative to express release it through writing or by just choosing love and compassion instead. ( We don’t know what others may be struggling with remember to choose kindness we are lessons for each other.)
Activity - Sing, Act, get artistic, Express yourself.
Thursday – Third Eye - “To See”
We all have an inner knowing. Our inner light. When we lean into our light we find a new perspective, even shifting the perspective of those around us. Choosing to see the unseen and to allow our intuition to lead. This inner guide allows us to empower ourselves. It allows us to strengthen our connection with self and source. In the energy of Thursday and the excitement you feel for the approaching weekend allow yourself to connect with your intuition. Hold the energy of your excitement for the weekend and use it as a beacon for the energy you want to be in always, this or better. Ask that you wake up in this energy every day. Then practice it. Allow yourself to see it! Which aligns with Jupiter which rules positive views, mental and spiritual development. A master day for manifestation!
Activity - Day dream. Visualize the manifestations your desire.
Friday – Heart Chakra - “To Accept”
We come to the end of another week! We celebrate the coming weekend and closing out the week. Everything seems lighter because the element of the day is air. Embrace the energy of your heart chakra get deep into gratitude for all things. The ruling planet of the day is Venus. It’s no wonder that Friday is widely known as “date night” as Venus is all about love. But it doesn’t have to be passionate love. You can focus this energy to love of life, love of all things, love of your surroundings, and those who surround you. A great practice to embrace in this energy is gratitude. Gratitude helps us to connect with love. Thank everyone openly for anything they do for you no matter how great or small. List your gratitude in a journal, while your driving, while your cooking or working out. Make it all about the attitude of gratitude. Speaking your gratitude will support your heart chakra, encouraging it to open more and more! This is something I do daily, but if you’re new to a practice, Friday is a great day to make non negotiable commitment for this practice.
Activity - Take yourself on a date. Connect with yourself and others. Practice gratitude.
Saturday – Root Chakra - “To have”
The last day of the week and one of the most sought after days of the week! A day for renewal, for connection with self and Source. A time to connect with our home, family and friends. If you find yourself doing your errands, cleaning house, and connecting with others on this day don’t be shocked as the ruling planet of the day is Saturn and the chakra is the root chakra. Saturn’s energy is all about structure and discipline it’s all about creating a foundation, getting things done, and getting connected. So embrace the “get it done” energy! The energy of the root chakra is all about connection, security, protection, and self-discipline. One way you can do this is to thank the day for allowing you to finish your tasks, for having the time to get the items you needed, for the items being available to you, you can also thank your home for all that it does for you. Allowing you to embrace the safety and security you have all around you and cultivate more.
Allow yourself to be open to whatever comes your way, for your highest and greatest good, and do it! Then just BE. Bask in the expansion of the energy of “the weekend” and what you choose to create from it.
Activity - Connect with your higher power and see the strength and security you have.
It is crazy when you start to unravel these little tricks to align yourself with the energy to make the most of the day. But also remember to be flexible, because no matter the energy of the day sometimes we just need to be human.
